About the Event

Learn about the traditions of Central Asian rug felting, and get inspired by the clean lines and timeless designs of nomad felts. In this 6-week workshop there are 3 recorded lessons accompanied by detailed, downloadable written descriptions of 3 projects of different felting concepts to create structural flat felt using prefelts for decorations. Each project takes 6-8 hours to complete. Industrial and handmade prefelts will be introduced and taught to work with.

This class is a great opportunity to explore different qualities of wool and learn how to work with batts, but it is OK to work with tops, too.

The modules will be released on every other Sundays: March 21st, Apr 4th and 18th.

There will be 3, one-hour-long Zoom meetings on the following Sundays: March 28th, Apr 11th and 25th, from 10 am PST, when we’ll gather in an online class room, exchange ideas and get your questions answered.
