Learn about the traditions of Central Asian rug felting, and get inspired by the clean lines and timeless designs of nomad felts. In this 3-week workshop there are 3 recorded lessons accompanied by detailed written descriptions of 3 projects of different felting concepts to create structural flat felt using prefelts for decorations. Each project takes 5-6 hours to complete. Industrial and handmade prefelts will be introduced and taught to work with. This class is a great opportunity to explore different qualities of wool and learn how to work with batts, but it is OK to work with tops, too.

The lessons will be released on Fridays: Nov 27, Dec 4 and 11. There will be 3 one-hour-long Zoom meetings on the following Sundays: Nov 29, Dec 6 and 13th, from 10 am PST, when we’ll gather in an online class room, exchange ideas and get your questions answered.
